I’m Canadian. I left Canada many years ago. I’ve lived in the US and Asia, and my main residence in in Asia. I’ve spent a lot of time in Canada and South America this year, largely because of the virus. One thing that I notice about Canada is that there is ALWAYS someone or some group complaining. Teachers, nurses, doctors, refugees, immigrants, students, indigenous, blacks, Muslims, women, trans etc. You name it, they are complaining! And the media gives them all a platform. WTF!! It seems everyone complains so as to get more shit from the government. Or whatever. It’s fucking tiring. No one seems to take responsibility for their lives. They all complain and want more. How about just shutting up and being happy you are alive and not in a shithole, instead of trying to make Canada a shithole. End of rant.

I’ve lived in Asia for many years. A big difference between Asia and North America is that sick people stay home, or if they must go out, they wear a mask. It’s common sense and courtesy. Why get on a crowded bus or train or go to an office when you might infect someone? And if you must venture out, try not to infect others. I recall my time spent in Quebec and NYC. I’d get on a crowded train and people were coughing away, spreading germs in close quarters, not caring at all about viral transmission. It’s just gross.

If 100 people go to a movie or concert and 20% have chosen not to be vaccinated, what’s the problem? The 80% who have received the vaccine won’t get sick (if the vaccine is effective), and the other 20% have chosen to take the risk. I don’t see a problem at all, except perhaps because the authorities insist on conformity? Everyone must follow the rules?
