I'm serious, if you were in charge what would you do to protect people from COVID?

NOT by locking down healthy people and NOT by becoming a dictatorship.
Isolate and protect the vulnerable the best as you can possibly do.
Take a closer look at therapies, including experimental ones. Right now, if you catch covid in Canada, you're told to go back home and drink water. That's it.

Other than that, everything was already said by u/Nietzscheese/ , which I can't agree more with:

  • This virus is a force of nature and can't be eliminated
  • The benefits don't outweigh the costs and we're certainly going to pay dearly these costs
  • We can't lockdown forever It's been a year already! We all remember when this was supposed to last 14 days

Everyone here knows this is not about a virus but these are the metrics the politicians and celebrity doctors use to lock us down and to convince the NPCs they're saving lives.

Counting covid cases in flights is fear mongering sensationalism to push for more travel restrictions. We'll never get to covid zero like the leftards dream. Covid is here to stay and we better learn how to live with it.

With that said, no countries should have been exempted from testing and arrivals should be tested. The AB pilot program is working well.

France reported nearly 27,000 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, the biggest one-day jump since mid-November when France was in its second lockdown and a further sign that a tighter curfew is not containing the virus.

Shut it down. Let the eastern bastards freeze in the dark.

I couldn't agree more! Some parts of BC (not the Lower Mainland) should join us in AB though. They're not infected by this dangerous virus.

They’re proud to be hypocrites.

$126 million over eight years

How many hospitals and ICU beds would that buy? Since they're locking us down based on these numbers, that would be a better investment than French gender studies classes.

This decision follows Merck’s review of findings from Phase 1 clinical studies for the vaccines. In these studies, both V590 and V591 were generally well tolerated, but the immune responses were inferior to those seen following natural infection and those reported for other SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 vaccines.

Exactly and they don't realize the government can't protect them from this.

There will be more variants, more contagious and more deadly.
Immunity from vaccination or previous contagion won't last forever. The duration won't be the same for everyone.
New strains resistant to the current vaccines will appear.

Covid is the new flu.

The “new normal”, this will never end. They tried everything to scare us: “you’re going to kill grandma”, “young people can die from it”, “you’ll have long covid”, etc.

Now the variants are doing the job and the sheep coronalosers are begging for more restrictions.

Looks like they're trying to copy Australia so I expect draconian lockdowns like theirs (can leave your house arrest for 1h max daily, just for exercise or grocery shopping, only 5km radius from your home, etc).
IF they can control the virus like they did in Australia, borders will be closed indefinitely, the airlines (and travel industry in general) will lay off a lot of people and get a ton of public money.
Now Australia has flash lockdowns with little notice every time they find a single case of this glorified flu.

And the pandeminions will applaud the government and ask for more restrictions.

As long as you don't vote Liberal, NDP and of course the retarded extreme left parties.

I lived a few years in Montreal before moving to Calgary. No regrets and I should have done it sooner. :)

I used to be against but not anymore. If both the US and Canada block Alberta oil, what's the problem of being landlocked? Fuck Ottawa and Quebec.

It'd have been easier to isolate China in January or February but that was racist.

Daily comic relief from the fake conservative pigman:

"It makes me very very angry, and I want to make something clear, I'm not angry at the prime minister or deputy prime minister. We've been working collaboratively, I'm just angry at the situation that other countries are getting it," Ford said.

"We have to be on those guys [at Pfizer] like a blanket. I would be outside that guy’s house. Every time he moves, I would be saying, ‘where’s our vaccines.'"

"Other people are getting them; the European Union is getting them. Why not Canada? That’s my question to Pfizer."

Ford also appealed to U.S. president-elect Joe Biden on Tuesday for help securing more COVID-19 vaccines for Ontario. Ford appealed to Biden to share a million doses of the Pfizer shot, which is manufactured in Michigan.

Let's bankrupt the airlines and later bail them out with billions of public money.

Quebec is asking the federal government to ban all "non-essential" travel from Canada so they obviously are going to do it because it's Quebec asking.
