Statue was made in 2008. It's being used now as a retarded statement. Based on the Medusa myth, it doesnt even make sense. It should be holding the head of Poseidon for what he did to her. And she turns people to stone, so it makes no sense to decapitate and carry the head. It should be a stone head crumbling or his shattered remains pushed over to smash on the floor or some other option.Hell, Athena, what should be the ultimate feminist symbol for wisdom and power, should be the one decapitated for turning her into the monster for getting raped. These people cant even get their messages correct, but rely on public not knowing the difference.

Also, Perseus did nothing wrong - she was a monster with numerous murders and evils committed by the time he killed her. The statue is also a horrible homage. Its flat and composition is horrible. Compare it to Cellini’s original statue and see the difference in skill between the two sculptors. It's a joke this piece of shit statue is being used for political message, but probably its shitty quality is why it was so cheap to acquire 12 years later when no one wanted it. It was in his studio unsold and unused and unwanted for all that time.

It was commissioned as part of an advertising campaign developed by McCann, a global advertising corporation. And it was commissioned to be presented on the first anniversary of State Street Global’s “Gender Diversity Index” fund, which has the following NASDAQ ticker symbol: SHE. And finally, along with Fearless Girl is a bronze plaque that reads:
Know the power of women in leadership. SHE makes a difference.
Note it’s not She makes a difference, it’s SHE makes a difference. It’s not referring to the girl; it’s referring to the NASDAQ symbol. It’s not a work of guerrilla art; it’s an extremely clever advertising scheme. This is what makes it clever: Fearless Girl derives its power almost entirely from Di Modica’s statue. The sculptor, Kristen Visbal, sort of acknowledges this. She’s said this about her statue: “She’s not angry at the bull — she’s confident, she knows what she’s capable of, and she’s wanting the bull to take note.”
It’s all about the bull. If it were placed anywhere else, Fearless Girl would still be a very fine statue — but without facing Charging Bull the Fearless Girl has nothing to be fearless to. Or about. Whatever. Fearless Girl, without Di Modica’s bull, without the context provided by the bull, becomes Really Confident Girl.

Much like how the Fearless Girl statue derives all its power entirely from the work of a better sculptor and artist, this bullshit medusa statue is a poor imitation of a better artist's work and derives all its message and intent from someone else's work. It's intellectual theft and just an advertising campaign for a shitty scultpure no one wanted to the point it was rotting in a studio for over a decade until they could parade it out in a media blitz for cheap.

That is a very average body type- literally just a normal woman.

Medusa's whole schtick was that she turned men to stone. Did she sneak up behind this guy? That's not really her MO. If she didn't, I'd like to hear more about this mythical sword that cuts through solid rock.

But, hey, I'm not surprised a dumb, lazy feminist with nothing of actual substance to express wouldn't hurt himself by thinking too hard about his subject.
