‘We will find you. And you will be dealt with’: Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan warns white supremacists
See, the problem is this government has already defined everyone who doesn't vote for them as "white supremacists".
So what this statement really means is, they're going to purge from the military anyone who isn't personally loyal to the Liberal party and Justin Trudeau. They're trying to turn it into a party-loyal force, like the Waffen SS or Republican Guard.
This is corroborated by the fact that they've had military personnel marching, in uniform, in left-wing political demonstrations like gay pride parades. This signals that the military is being hyper-politicized and turned into a partisan force.
When the conservatives finally do return to power, they're going to have their work cut out for them de-politicizing the military. Because the upper echelons appear to be going along with this hyper-politicization enthusiastically. If they weren't, you'd have been be reading about an endless procession of military officers falling on their swords rather than go along with it over the last five years, which is what they all should do. I know for a fact there have been mid level and low level commanders who quit rather than be politicized, but nobody high profile that I know of. Nobody top tier. That's largely because you need to be a self-interested sociopath to rise to those levels, at which point you'll do anything, regardless how unethical, to preserve and further your career.
