It should take unanimous electoral consent to admit so much as one new immigrant to Canada. By which I mean, if the government wants to admit an individual immigrant, they should have to run a national referendum and win 100.0% of the vote before proceeding. This needs to be done for every individual immigrant on an individual basis so people know who they're voting to admit or reject.
When you live with roommates, you don't bring in a new roommate unless everyone's ok with it. The government has no moral right whatsoever to bring in new people without the consent of every last person already living here. Every single existing Canadian should have veto power.
Or a general referendum on immigration numbers, with one simple question:
Do you want more or less immigration
If the results are for less rather than more, then the house should decide how much to reduce those numbers.
Nobody has voted, been asked, or approved the current numbers, and it's time to stop.
Personally, I'd put a moratorium on all immigration, refugees, or roxham roaders for 5 years. Of course pundits want us to believe that if we did that the entire country would collapse. Funny how we had aircraft carriers and a top notch economy back when the population was 20 Million.
The arguments for immigration are full of doublethink. People say we need them to work jobs that Canadians won't do, but then also say that they don't take people's jobs.
Fuck this government.
Immigration should be Zero until unemployment drops back to normal levels.
But diversity is our strength bruh
Gotta restock that voter base! Trudeau's popularity has been sinking!
Seriously, first generation immigrants shouldn't be granted the vote. We need a bulwark against vote importing as an electoral tactic.
My mom tells me about when she used to work at Tim Horton's, when they baked the donuts in-store.
Now when I go there it's entirely staffed by latinos who have trouble speaking english.

"Okay everyone, the next person on today's immigration list is, you guessed it, Muhamm..." "VETO!"
