it must have been a bitter pill to swallow when he realized max is a charlatan
Well good for him taking the red pill on Max and the PPC at least.
The vast majority of PPC supporters take the blue pill because they've invested too much in the PPC to abandon it now or to admit it's a sham. It's the same thing that keeps cult members in the cults long after they realize "the leader" is a charlatan.
Maxime Bernier has been a politician for nearly 15 years. A career politician. So it doesn't shock me that he is a chameleon who is just butthurt that he lost to Andrew Scheer. And now that Andrew Scheer is gone, he is probably regretting that he burned his bridge with the Tories. He is copying the Trump/Bolsonaro recipe, I question whether Maxime was hiding his power level all this time.
I would still consider voting PPC or some other fringe party as a fuck you to the political process though. I refuse to vote for Erin O'Tool or Doug Ford. I don't care if the majority of Canadians supposedly support lockdowns. The polls are fake anyways. Look at the polls for the 2020 US presidential election. The polls had Trump being blown out in a number of states but the results ended up being close. They were wrong by more than the margin of error this time. I refuse to cuck to a lockdown candidate. I voted for some fringe candidate in my riding last time who had no chance because I wanted to show my displeasure for the Liberal-Conservative-NDP-Green status quo.
For me PPC is not about liking Maxime Bernier. But about my dislike of the available alternatives.
I would have voted for a CGI teddy bear if it was on the ballot.
I hear ya mate. I voted PPC in 2019. The sad reality of Canadians politics currently is a huge black pill. PPC has great policies, but Max is a horrible person to lead it. His french accent turns off western voters, and he needs the west since they are the most populist. Another reality is there's room for only 1 right wing party in Canada. Yes CPC is barely even right wing, but the perception is that they are the major right wing party. PPC best chance for growth was Scheer staying as leader, but he's gone now. O'toole is a minor upgrade but is not the populist we need. I do think PPC voters need to come to terms that a weak CPC will only ensure Trudeau as PM. All efforts need to be concentrating on electing a strong populist CPC leader, unfortunately we blew it by choosing O'toole instead of Leslyn Lewis.
Would you support a lockdown if The Covid pandemic became too serious?
70% of Canadians would.
But... see how the question is leading people to say that they would support a lockdown? The question already assumes, like it’s an indisputable fact, that lockdown work. It’s tough to say no to a question like this.
The way that poll questions are constructed influence the results.
The following questions would produce vastly different results:
Would you support a lockdown if it meant a loss of income?
Would you support a lockdown if it meant that you would be lonely?
Would you support a lockdown if it pushed many people into poverty?
Well good for him taking the red pill on Max and the PPC at least.

Many people have realized after the election that Max has totally failed. No party constitution, then the reveal of him taking a big salary.
