I used to like the Post a lot. It wasn't ever fully conservative, but had a good mix of conservatives to listen to and liberal voices to roll my eyes at. Lately it seems that everyone has cucked out. And what do I find on today's front page? Not just a post saying Dominion has been deboonked, but Brian Mulroney telling us how good Biden will be. The only one still worth a damn is Rex Murphy.
Where is everyone getting their news these days?
And neither does the US president. The congress makes laws in the US. The EO changed nothing.
You have no gripe on the history of the Catholic church. This didn't start in 1960. It was always in the church. Orgies with minors were the favorite part time activity of the clergy during the middle ages. The Church was always rotten to the core.
The context is that he called for violence.
And your larping as traditional Catholic to mask your failures is even farther away from spiritual grace. Everybody can see your post history. You're not a Conservative. You're not a Christian. You're a lost soul thinking that role playing as traditional Catholic will give you stability. But it hasn't. You're still as lost. Just take a look at your comments in other threads. They are full of hate and spiritual empty.
We can argue about that day and night. I have the feeling neither of us will change their position.
Then you should understand why people turned their back on the church. It wasn't Liberal indoctrination. It wasn't the failure of Conservatives. It was the Church alone. Just take a look at what happened in Quebec during the early 60s. They were a low key Catholic theocracy. They controlled the government and they controlled the education of children. They wanted everything. They lost everything.
I point fingers at Catholics and Protestants. I wrote "The Church is rotten to to the core". That includes all Christian denominations.
It was just an observation. This deus vult larping is common nowadays and you fill every criteria of it. Your false representation of the church is harmful and will turn even more people away from Christ.
I attack the failures of the church, but not to destroy them. I rather see that these failures is what led to the downfall. Attacking these failures, fixing these failures will strengthen the church.
A Conservative with a sense of humor and someone who knows that Christ himself would point out these failures.
I don't think you know what happened in Quebec. It wasn't due to changes with the Second Vatican Council or any liberalization of the Catholic Church. It was exactly the opposite. It was the further and further encroachment of the Catholic Church into the life of Quebecois. What followed was a rebellion against the Catholic Church. Read up on the Quiet Revolution.
It's not just the post about Israel. In many comments you let hate rule your words. A follower of Christ wouldn't do that. You should have as much compassion and empathy for Justin Trudeau as for Derek Sloan. Same goes for any Liberal or Conservative.
God will judge everyone equally. Their position will not matter in his eyes.
Then be this good person, online and offline. Christianity is not only defined by visiting the church and reading the bible. If this was the case, I would already be one of the angels of God. Even I have doubt when it's -55 degrees with windchill on a Sunday morning and I wake up to drive 30 min to my church with my wife and kids. But this is not what makes me Christian. What defines Christianity for me is not to give into the anger and into the hate. You may argue that it is needed and that the other side started with the hate and all this "we go high when they go low" is just bullshit, but these arguments won't work in front of God. You know that you can be a Conservative without being hateful. You can advocate for lower immigration without calling your opponents faggots or traitors. You can be anti-abortion and still have compassion for every women who chose to undergo one. You can be against same-sex marriage and still be happy that a same-sex couple found each other in marriage. Be the person that would pass the judgement of God.
