The evidence is clear that they do more harm than good. Hand to mouth is one of the most common ways of virus spread. And when the government mandates masks, very rarely is someone ever applying a new mask each time they enter a new location. Someone goes to the gas-station they apply the mask, they exit they take off mask, they go to the grocery store they apply the mask and on it goes as one goes about their day. You may as well be sticking your fingers directly in your mouth each time you do this.
There's basically no way to practice proper mask application when they become mandated unless you're making it a point to only go inside 1 public place at a time before returning home.
It's as simple as this: before applying a mask you NEED to make sure that you're hands are washed. When wearing a mask you CANNOT touch or adjust it, this is medical guidelines 101. You apply the mask and may only touch it when you're removing it to then discard. Any other way you're putting yourself at unnecessary risk.
Another obvious problem is that we as humans have one of the most bacteria ridden mouths of any species. We exert a lot of what is normal bacteria waste, even as we breath. You do not want fabric across your mouth causing yourself to constantly re-inhale your bacterial waste... Pure insanity.
How healthy people can be forced to wear masks in public is one of the most fascist governmental displays of power that I've witnessed in my life. How any intelligent person can be okay with this just boggles my mind.
God bless those of you here with common sense. It's certainly refreshing in a country that seems lost.
lol! but mannnnnnnnnnnnn, that's the frustrating thing. People always say to me "just wear the mask and pull it down after once you're inside the store" but it's like what kind of ridiculous charade are we putting ourselves through? Acting like children trying to evade the mask-police. it's absurd.
I mean fuck dude, it really sucks. I don't know how they're going to enforce it where it's mandated here in BC. Would suck to get a 1000 dollar fine or some shit, but then the other option is just not going inside and then you're fucking over small businesses and supporting the conglomerates. But I suppose if small businesses are going to enforce it, they deserve the lack of patronage.
I was in the gas station yesterday morning and there was only one other guy in the store, some Asian guy without a mask. I was filling out some lottery tickets and this women walks in and I can hear her complaining to the cashier in hush tones about mask wearing and her voice is trembling saying "you have to worry about yourself! They're going to make you sick!" as the cashier is standing behind a plexiglass sheet. I walk up to the till expecting to have to get into it with the bitch making a fuss but she just storms out without even looking at me.
Man, this shit's going to be a war isn't it?
I used this excuse yesterday and a woman at the till asked me if I had "my medical exemption card".
Is this an actual thing? Are people really having to provide this? I was under the understanding that they're not allowed to challenge or ask.
Thanks for the link man. I knew this mask shit would probably come eventually, but they've kind of caught me flat footed with it.
It actually really sucks more than I thought it would. Having to prepare myself for conflict every time I enter an establishment. It really is demoralizing and tiring. It's like once it became a "law" people flipped a switch and became insane about it.
I'm gonna have to step up my game and have a go-to game plan ready
