Back up two comments, THANK YOU for recognizing that I was "probably being facetious". Yes at least half so, but the other half is a profoundly hard problem, well worth exploring with good people like you :)

Yes the government should keep out of things, because YES they fuck up everything they touch. But then you bring up "mental health plans". I don't know specifically in detail what you're referring to there. But in general, I'm happy for the government to waste extravagant sums of tax dollars trying to deal with "mental health". Look, mental health (the real thing) is a profound problem, a radically complex and deep problem we may never solve. But the consequences, the damage, are likely the very worst thing known by humanity, the most "evil", the most devastating, we CANNOT live with them. People getting worms in their eyeballs and going blind is mild by comparison, and we can actually fix that problem, unlike "mental health".

So look, I'm happy for fucking gubbement to waste bizarre sums of money on "mental health", given that there is no way they could possibly get it right, but doing ANYTHING is better than doing nothing. Please explain if you think government has sunken even below this random basic utility, and is now specifically wasting every penny for mental health on pure corruption. I want to know. I can forgive inevitable ignorance on impossibly hard problems. And I will fight to death for honesty, against evil.
