I thought I was the only Jew who realized that McDonald's jacked the price of their value menu.
A McDouble is $2.79 here in the GTA. You probably live in a cheaper part of the country.
Pre-COVID, I used to get takeout from McDonald's up to 4 times a week. Now I just buy pre-cooked burger patties (no mess from having to grill/fry up burgers. I just re-heat them) from the meats section of my supermarket for a $1 each. And then I buy the hamburger buns, processed American cheese slices and thousand island dressing. So instead of paying $2.79 + tax for a sandwich, I'm paying maybe $1.45-1.53/sandwich depending on how much dressing I put on my burger.

I'm pretty sure it's $2.29 here is Saskatoon, but it's been a while since my last visit to McDonalds.
It was $2.29 up until like June or so and then McDonald's jacked up the price 50c here
They need to compensate for the lockdowns. Expect another increase after the holidays.
