Be happy that it's as easy as that. I'm in Saskatchewan and you not only have to register every child you plan to homeschool with the government, you also have to submit an education plan and progress report each year.
My youngest is now in elementary school. And so far I don't see anything in that regard. I even looked at the history curriculum if they somehow will praise communism later on, but they learn about communism when they go through authoritarian regimes. They even learn about the Holodomor when they learn about genocides and how it was caused by Communists. But that could be a Saskatchewan thing.
