My building has 2 xersons per elevator rule. I get on, then it stops a few floors down.
Doors open to reveal two folks all masked up of course, both with expressions indicating that they're trying to process how to deal with this situation, as me plus ye equals three.
Xerson the 1st mumbles "maybe we should just take the stairs", xiz she-partner replies "good idea". Sorry kids, I guess you never expected to encounter someone else using the elevator machine.
Best part though, the shocked look they both had, a combination of fear/anger/and disbelief. "but the sign says TWO people max! wat do now?!!?"

I absolutely detest the fake, folksy, nice Canadian. Imagine being known for being nice. I just imagine the passive aggression in grocery store aisles as these restrictions continue with no end in sight and become increasingly authoritarian. What is the breaking point for the average Canadian? Many people I know are in denial still but are increasingly angry at society because if people "just followed the rules and did what they wanted us to do we wouldn't be in this situation!" I mean how naive, most people still think the government has their best interest in mind.
As a proper cuck, he should have asked his gf to ride with you and he could take the stairs on his own. That fella needs some reeducation.
My building is max 3 people per elevator. I disregard this.
I was in the reverse situation at my mom’s condo in Montreal a few months back. The building also has a two person per elevator rule as well as a mask rule. The elevator stopped at my floor and the door opened. There was a father and his daughter inside. I stepped into the elevator and the man started scolding me, telling me I’m not allowed in. I told him I wasn’t sick and that I’m getting in and if he wanted to get out and wait for the next elevator that’s fine with me. (I was polite but I was not waiting any longer.). He didn’t leave the elevator but grumbled in Arabic and French all the way down about me ignoring the rules blah blah blah. I then pointed out to him that he was in no position to complain about me not following the rules because he also was not following the rules. (There was a mask rule which I complied with and he and his daughter didn’t.) He grumbled more and challenged my assertion of a mask rule. I pointed out the big sign in front of his face. Bottom line, in buildings with elevator capacity rules if the lift arrives with someone in it I generally ask if they mind if I enter. No one apart from the grumpy man in my mom’s building has ever objected
