The anti-Trump propaganda is like most countries in that it's fucking bad.
First off, Trump hasn't been great for relations and while I'd say Trudeau was entirely responsible for most of the shit that went down he's also bailed out (payed off) the media (giving them hundreds of millions of dollars that went entirely to executive bonuses instead of preventing any layoffs, but it certainly worked.)
The Joe Biden propaganda is crazy, but what you'll never understand is the Hillary propaganda in Canada. There are a ton of boomer women who utterly worship her and Hillary used to do a ton of speaking tours in Canada which would all sell out.
The virile Trump hate that you'll hear from a lot of Canadians is coming from the women and it's coming from the women because Hillary has been selling herself as a feminist icon in Canada for a solid 25 years.
If Hillary calls Trump a fascist demagogue, their emotions get whipped up to the point where they honestly believe that Trump is a fascist demagogue (yes, I'm aware of the irony.)
As for would I have Trump as a Prime MInister, our system is very different from yours so the closest equivalency would be Trump as Governor General which would immediately set off a Constitution Crisis which is always problematic because technically speaking, we still don't have a constitution (Quebec were being real dicks about the thing so we dropped it and pretend we're a real country with a real constitution instead.)
Our Prime Minister is more like your Speaker of the House, so if the question was 'if we could make Nancy Pelosi Prime Minister would we do it' to which the answer is fuck no. I'd have 20 years of Trudeau before I'd endure 2 years of that psychotic hag ruling the country with carte blanche to do whatever she wants.
(It's fun to watch you boys get scared out stacking the Supreme Court when not only does our government stack the Supreme Court, it stacks the fucking Senate as well.)
Even though I voted Mad Max, it was a protest vote and he isn't going anywhere. The truth is that he was fucked out of his CPC leadership convention with Dominion software and he would have made a great PM but he's not the man to build a party from scratch.
As I say, different systems entirely.
Your point about anti Trump sentiment among women is true. You're right that it is because of Clinton campaigns to frame her as a feminist icon. I would add both Michelle Obama and Oprah to that as well, middle aged Canadian women worship them both as strong inspiring women. Despite the fact that Michelle did nothing of any importance but be the last president's wife!
You're also right about the senate, but it hardly matters since the senate barely does anything in Canada, and should be disbanded.
