I've never trusted the Canadian government, given how much they've stolen from us and lied to us over the decades. I knew something was up with the Covid-1984 business the moment talking heads in the media started yapping about it. I had friends tell me horror stories about Covid, so I wasn't entirely sure, but I still leaned toward the position the government is lying to us and my friends are brainwashed sheep, just like the rest of the soulless North American hive mind.
My belief the pandemic was 95% false went to 100% because of two things:
The government did a complete 180 degree turn on their position the virus is harmless, masks are completely unnecessary and you're a xenophobe and racist if you want to close the borders. They now advocate the exact opposite. To me, this sounds like they changed their minds once they were convinced of the political advantages of Covid-1984 from an authoritarian control and surveillance perspective.
The other thing that did it for me was the BLM rioting. Nobody bothered with social distancing and masking during the riots simply because the cause was a politically correct one supported by leftist elites. When pro-Trumpers rioted on Capitol Hill, leftists were worried about the spread and transmission of Covid-1984, but obviously only because of ideological disagreement (otherwise, how else could we account for the double standards?)
JFL at naive, innocent sheep who think the government cares about your health. Your government doesn't give a fuck about you.
Mid April last year. Things weren't adding up, the solutions didn't seem to fit what was needed. How everyone started chanting 'flatten the curve, and 'two more weeks '.
I knew something was up.
I knew it was bullshit when they wouldn't properly define the symptoms. You shouldn't need a test to tell you that you are sick if it is as bad as they made it to be.
We knew even before lockdowns in March how corona diseases compared to other diseases. I was with some old ladies on March 12th who said they were scared (after watching the news). I showed them a graph comparing covid to other diseases, such as ebola, influenza, common cold, etc. Even early on we had the data to show us that covid is only marginally more dangerous than the flu. Their eyes glazed over and they ignored me.
I knew then that we were fighting media driven hysteria and cognitive dissonance.
They never shut the airports down
When inconsistincies in epidemiology and oddities started to get reported by infowars.com around may 2020. It started to get more suspect after that.
Agree I was disappointed he went along with it. Makes me wonder if he wasn’t in on it to be honest
Immediately. Five minutes in.
In December I saw the stuff coming out of China. Then some of the news coming out of Italy and the middle east. Things were still sketchy at the time but I made the choice to stock up on supplies while things were still good. I wasn't so sure of the virus, but I knew the rush could/would happen.
The rush happened and everyone ran to the store to buy TP. I had enough for about 4 or so months along with extra goods. So we were not worried.
But then news began to filter in that didn't quite align with what was going on. By about the end of April/May I could see the politics in all this. That was when I knew this wasn't the plague they said it was. So I started looking into it more and since I already had a healthy untrust of news media it didn't take look to look beyond the propaganda and see the truth. Propaganda is always sloppy and when you make lie after lie it doesn't take long before you can see the truth past their lies.
The moment it became a big deal, which was also the moment the swamp's first impeachment attempt failed to remove Trump from office.
When ur mom died
I remember early January watching the fear porn come out of China. The emergency hospital that was built in days. The body bags being loaded onto busses. Looking at sulphur oxide emissions and trying to estimate crematorium usage. I was concerned.
Then it came here. There where no massive waves of dead. There where no body bags. There were no overloaded crematoriums or mass graves. We stayed at home, made banana bread, and got fat.
Yep. I remember seeing the stories about cremation urns stacked high on the streets of Wuhan and thinking it was going to get crazy here. Fast forward to today where they stated that 63% of ALL covid deaths here in BC have been in long term health care centers...so people on deaths door already. Yawn. Despite this televised fact everyone thinks this is the bubonic plague, because it's a been a year of non stop propaganda spreading fear everywhere.
They flip flopped on the efficacy of masks and then told us they lied to us for our own good. They sent China PPE and then had China send back contaminated PPE. There were Chinese nationals living here buying up sanitizers, cleaning products and PPE and sending it back to China but telling us we are racist for not eating at Chinese food restaurants.
And now we are being told we need to lockdown because of hypothetical scenarios and invisible variant boogeymen.
Yeah if you only test people who have symptoms, no shit the test positivity rate is going to be higher. If you test a bunch of asymptomatics, no shit the test positivity rate is going to drop.
With Peel Region forcing 1,000 residents at a condo to go get tested due to a B.1.351 variant outbreak there, Peel's case totals will likely go up and the media is going to hype that. While they will ignore the inevitable decrease in the test positivity rate.
I said the same thing at the time. Literally told my friend “they just made this their new trump. They rant about trump for 3 1/2 years, they start getting bored of it and this is the new thing. It’s the exact same voice screaming that trump is a racist now screaming about covid.” I wasn’t exactly dead on about how pre-planned this all was but I still knew it was BS
