They count a damaged statue as a hate crime in the article. Tearing down white statues isnt a hate crime though. Basically, a foreign group of Chinese invade and take over mass swaths of Vancouver and other BC cities and then complain they are discriminated against and its somehow a hate crime while they protest against white Canadians. Despite that, its not even a hate crime so much as just classifying any vandalism as a hate crime and its still only a couple hundred incidents. Barely a blip.
