If they actually did partially reduce the amount of virus circulating, I think it could be possible that they make things worse, as they’re inhibiting T cell immunity from taking hold as quickly in the community.

Remember when we were told the summer months won't kill the spread, and then when it did we were told the summer months killed the spread...and remember at band camp....

CDC is confident that they reduce hospitalization/deaths by 1-3 percent - which is probably less than all the death that will happen from missed diagnoses, missed preventative treatment, missed exercise, stress, etc.
