Hello, this is the post of a conservative who has had enough. For many years the Conservatives have been drifting left and inching closer and closer to the left. They gave up the abortion fight and stopping fighting for what I cared about. When Scheer took power, I thought of him as a weaker Harper. He wasn't great but he would do for now, but he was too weak to lead the right flanks of Canada to victory. I was originally a Leslyn Lewis supporter, but I decided Erin O'Toole was good enough. I figured while he wasn't what I wanted, at least he was "True Blue", as he claimed, and that he at least wouldn't erode further to the left, like MacKay tried.
Nope, I was wrong, and today I jumped sides. I liked Maxime Bernier more than Scheer back in 2019, but I figured I didn't want to split the vote. Now I don't care, all of them are basically the same and I'm not going to hold my nose for O'Toole anymore.
Canada has a voter turnout of 67%. What the right needs is not some wishy washy centrist weak compromise candidate who will sell out their values 5 years down the road. We need someone who will rally up the fiery masses and turn out the right wingers en-masse.
I see Maxime Bernier as that candidate. The right needs a Trump or a Bernie, not a sleepy Joe or a Jeb Bush. Don't care if the Conservatives pester me day and night about splitting the vote, you left me, I didn't leave you.
my favorite meme, it never gets old
holy shit, an era where comedy wasn't dead. Amazing
Is there any hope for a door knocking campaign, or does publicly supporting the PPC get a normal person canceled?
Trump used the media to his advantage this way
Voting PPC but i think that you will find that most of the mail in ballots will be for Socks.
I think that anyone that voted for the CPC in 2019 or whatever it was because they didn't want to 'split the vote' could almost be excused for their noble but lame attempt at wanting to keep Trudeau out.
I said it at the time and I'll stick by it: I'm fine with whatever political party that wins the election. If one the of the left-wing parties wins (including the CPC) than I'm fine with it because it will just accelerate the collapse of this vapid, pointless country. And if the PPC win, however remarkable, I'm fine with that because maybe it would signify a 'low point' in Canadian history and that Canadians themselves recognize the magnitude of the problems we face and we can finally turn this stinking albatross of country around.
Either way, I win. I win if the country accelerates into the shitter, and I win if we can stop being so stupid and foolish and finally turn this pig around.
But, yeah, PPC>CPC every day of the week.
My grandpa used to rant on about the same shit in 1982 and guess what? It never happened. He died being wrong and wasted his whole life yelling at the moon.
Your grandfather wasn't wrong, he was just too far ahead of his time.
Even a broken clock.........
I am done giving any party my vote. Non of them work for me. So no reason to endorse their shit.
Jack Layton was pretty good speaker. Can't blame ya there. Even Biden couldn't help but plagiarize his speeches. I was getting swayed too during his peak. If he was leading the Liberal party or just more to the center, he would have easily crushed it in 2011.
