"Wahhh! We wanna wave tiki torches without any PR consequences! It's not fair! Ham is a meanie!!"
...as if I'm the one you need to convince here. Like I said, you go right ahead and wave those tiki torches if you want. See what happens. I'll be waiting on the other side to call you an idiot again.
Remember that next time you see a tiki torch.
Ok you go ahead wave tiki torches at your rallies if you want. See how that works out for you.
If the media starts calling Poilivere a white supremacist for walking around with a white power fist we will see how that works out for him.
Except practically nobody has ever heard of the fist being a white power symbol until now. Most people only know it from BLM symbolism.
Everyone's heard of white nationalists appropriating the tiki torch as a protest symbol.
And in case you still can't understand the difference:
The tiki torches were a PR loss for the Calgary protesters, because the public perceive tiki torches as being linked to white nationalists since Charlottesville.
The "racist sweater" accusation was a PR loss for the Liberals, because (and I can't believe this needs to pointed out to you) the public does not perceive the BLM fist as a white supremacist symbol (???).
But keep crying. You guys are all like...
...as if I'm the one you need to convince here. Like I said, you go right ahead and wave those tiki torches if you want. See what happens. I'll be waiting on the other side to call you an idiot again.
Next time I will wave a tiki torch while wearing shirt with a white power fist.
