China would sink their island into the sea if they even tried. Dumb idea
China's navy is like ten times bigger today. Taiwan would fall within a day or two.
Neither did the US.
Taiwan is not even half the size of Newfoundland and an island. They would simply blockade it and bomb it into oblivion.
