been getting feelings in my gut that i need to leave the cities as soon as possible. anyone have any recommendations on where to leave to?
i have to stay in Canada unfortunately. fortunately no family/work commitments so i'm free to go wherever. was thinking north of North Bay perhaps.
Niagara is full fuck off
Niagara is 'darkening' up very quickly these days.
great idea to be honest for the hotel. and i was raised in bancroft area so def used to the boonies life. i just wanna be in a chill spot where i can be left alone.
Parry sound is very nice, but you need some kind of a trade
Parry Sound is expanding fast and becoming a students hub. It also gets very touristy half the year because it's within reasonable driving range of Toronto.
Like others have said, if you go north, prepare for snow, closed highways in the winter, weaker telecom infrastructure, and a return to basics. If you're fine with all those, it really is a great change of pace and the people are so much more genuine.
I wish you the best on this transition!
Get a 14/14 shift at a gold mine, logging operation, fishing lodge or similar.
Be a CN Rail conductor - look at the reviews on Indeed. Definitely for you.
I also want to leave Ontario.
If you're not vaxxed like me, they might literally turn you away or simply seize you at the Quebec border, so I would head North to one of Ontario's thousands of beautiful townships.
Manitoulin Island worth considering if you wish to go fairly remote. Good quiet place for preppers and land with woodlots is fairly cheap. Lots of deer if one is a hunter. Sudbury is another possibility but house prices have gone crazy as folks are moving there but still way cheaper than Toronto.
