Can we have a forum that harbors free thinking, civil, Canadian patriots, and focuses on IMPORTANT THINGS, like culture, family, social issues, etc, rather than just trash talking people because of their party affiliation? For the past few days, all I've been reading about on this forum is someone complaining about someone else, and I wish there were more posts that are relevant to the current events going on in our country and in the world.
The latter is the reason I came to this forum (because of the msm's censorship), and it was ok at first, but now, it's all just petty bickering. If I could make a similar forum,(but without all the TRASHTALKING), I would, but I don't currently have the ability to do so.
People. Put aside your differences of skin color and realize that there is only one race - THE HUMAN RACE, and we are currently locked in a battle between freedom and slavery, Good vs Evil, unity vs division.
Can we all just TRY to be more civil, forgiving and loving, as God wants us to be? Remember, you can PEACEFULLY AGREE TO DISAGREE. (Edit: meh. what's the point in saying this? No matter where you go on the internet, there'll always be people who can't keep their cool)
I realize that this is just an online thing, that everyone's opinions and beliefs vary, and people will never agree 100%, but we should be able to RESPECTFULLY and APPROPRIATELY discuss and debate on a CIVIL platform.
OmegaCanada is not the forum it used to be a few months ago. I believe we need a different forum, one that focuses on sharing different sides of the story, one that allows for peaceful debate and civil discussion. No more trash talking (specifically just because you don't like the person). Yes, point out if someone is blatantly disrespectful, or making derogatory comments about a certain culture or group of people, but do so respectfully, and don't let it become the entire purpose of your being.
Edit : Perhaps the way I worded this isn't great, and it can be interpreted in multiple ways. But when I say be civil/respectful, I'm not saying that you can't disagree with me. As I said before, you can PEACEFULLY AGREE TO DISAGREE. But straight up complaining and trash talking people about people like Ham, not so great. I don't necessarily agree with Ham 100%, but I respect his right to express his opinion, and I don't name call him because he dislikes the PPC.
^That's what I'm trying to say. I've noticed alot of people trashing Ham. But this is a reminder that if you trash talk about people like Ham JUST BECAUSE you don't like him, then you are no better than those who want to censor you.
My bad. I get a bit off topic, so I apologize for going all over the place. Also, for the record, I'm not too good with words, so, while I tried to express my thoughts as clearly as I could, I understand that some of you might not take it the way it was intended to be interpreted.
I don't think feathers are 'unexplainable' so much as we don't have the full picture of the evolutionary process
Birds descended from ancient reptiles (Dinosaurs) that lived soo long ago that there are likely numerous intermediary species that we are unable to find in the fossil record.
Humans have been on earth in present form for ~200k years.
Dinosaurs lived on earth for over 150 million years. That's a ridiculous amount of time that is nearly unfathomable when you look at how many generations of offspring that amount of time would allow for. Not to mention that their descendants continued to evolve from 65 million years ago through the present day.
Agreed, I also believe feathers evolved, and there is likely some fossil or otherwise preserved intermediary between scales and feathers waiting for discovery.
HOWEVER after already discovering a ridiculous amount feathers and scales we have no intermediary. It's also difficult to imagine what that intermediary creature would look like given that it takes an additional series of complex traits simultaneously aligned with the already extremely complex feather.
Other people could reasonably point to feathers as evidence of Simulation Theory.
I think it's God allowing his complex universe to do complex things.
They key point I would like to iterate is when we are talking about a length of time that is so enormous, coupled with the small percentage of creatures that are preserved after death, it is very likely that we will never have anything close to the 'complete' fossil record.
When we are talking evolution, we are talking about small cumulative changes over large spans of time. Because of the ridiculous amount of time that has passed from the first bio genesis to current day, it's almost a guarantee that the majority of the physical record of ancient creatures is non-existent.
