Danielle Smith was well on her way to winning in 2015 then turned around and destroyed her own party to get the NDP elected. Brian Jean was well on his way to winning in 2019 then turned around and agreed to merge with the dying dinosaur PC Party who immediately swallowed Wildrose up and made sure quintessentially cuckservative Jason Kenney was elected.

I swear these new right-wing parties like Reform and Wildrose are just a pressure release valve until disillusioned conservatives are ready to be good little lemmings again.
