I live in shithole Toronto in a relatively nice condo build
Masks are required in elevators and common areas (barring medical exemption)
I get confronted easily 4-5 times weekly for not wearing a mask in elevator
I used to say "sorry I'm medically exempt" but after 50 of these confrontations I'm done explaining myself and I usually just go with a hard "no"
Last week had a guy who wouldn't get on, asked why I wasn't masked up, I said "don't feel like it"
He follows with "oh that's nice, what floor do you live on?" (presumably to report me)
At the point now where I don't even dread the interactions anymore - I'm just having fun with it.
Anyone have some good one liners for the inevitable "do you have a mask", "where's your mask" etc?
Sir, do you have a mask?
"Do you understand the bylaw you are trying to apply? You are explicit violation of the bylaws/acts you are trying to enforce just by asking."
Where is your mask?
"Excuse me? Did you ask me where my mask is? That is none of your business."
What floor do you live on?
"You are crossing a line. I am putting you on notice that you are actively harassing and verbally assaulting me. If you continue to engage with me, I will take actions to file police reports and criminal complaints against you."
Where is your mask?
"Are you practising medicine without a license? Do you have rights/privileges to practice medicine at in this building? Are you confessing to practising medicine without a license?"
The law says you have to wear a mask.
"Are you making legal determinations against me? Are you practising law without a license? Are you confessing to practising law without a license?"
