Hi guys,
I'm not sure what to do right now.
My employer has sent me an email stating that we can return to work, please provide the date of your covid-19 vaccine.
I do not wish to take the vaccine however as I don't think its been properly tested.
I've already had covid a couple months ago and it wasn't really a big deal.
What can I do in this situation?
I don't want to lose my job...but I don't want to inject myself with untested vaccines...
What industry do you work in? It has to be a bonafide job requirement, or they are opening themselves to a constructive dismissal lawsuit.
Transportation industry, IT department.
Yeah, not a bonafide requirement. Lawyer up.
Firing someone for-cause is really hard in Canada.
I work in IT as well, many clients don't care about masks indoors. My office papered up the glass by the hallway side due to nosey heath inspectors
They would have to prove that you need the vaccine to do your job - a desk job isn't a high priority and then they would have to prove that they make accommodations to have you work from home
