allow them to keep parts of their culture that has nothing to do with commerce,
You mean like special hunting privileges?
I have witnessed a group of Native hunters pull up in a refrigerated 18-wheeler, unload a bunch of atv’s and ride around picking off out of season deer with high powered semi-auto rifles. They loaded up dozens of deer into the reefer unit and rumour is the keep the back straps for themselves and sell the rest of the meat.
I don’t know how we are stopping them from doing that.
Seems like they want they opposite of self sufficiency. Like the government being responsible for providing clean drinking water to remote locations.
Half of the people I know don’t have that luxury and we live within an hour of Toronto. We were responsible for drilling and maintaining our own wells.

So then what parts of their culture are we not allowing them to keep?
