David Johnson was enjoying a cup of coffee along the seawall around 7:30 a.m Sunday when he saw a police officer approach the unresponsive men on the bench.

“I didn’t see him checking vital signs or talking on a radio … and then he was gone,” he said.

So did Hero David, the Coffee Cup Enjoyer go do anything? Nahhhhhh, he had coffee to enjoy!

Johnson said he later showed a photo he snapped of the five men to two other VPD officers, one male and one female, he encountered on nearby Denman Street but neither expressed much concern.

Did Hero Of the Day Johnson call the paramedics? Fire department? NOPE!! HE DIDNT! Where was his concern? Remember now, he was ENJOYING COFFEE! No time for other things.
