Of course the RS educators thought they were doing the right thing. Most were noble teachers who did a great job on an impossible task. Teaching a stone-age people to speak English or French and to live in the modern world is as difficult as training your grandmother to become a Google engineer. But without this education they would die. It is that simple and that important. Yes, mistakes were made. Times were different. Clearly, they cared far more for aboriginals than all the SJWs in Canada do.
