You can make the same point about Mohammed marrying a 6 year old. Just specific rules at a specific time.
How? How would you make that point? People who lust after this kind of lust are graduate from looking to actually doing, bringing great harm to children. Fornication is among the “lusts of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16–21) and among the evil things that come from the heart of a man apart from God (Mark 7:21–23).
Those commandments are from God, that apply to all people at all time.
It's like saying, "The rules of your strata say no plants out on your deck. But if you think those rules only apply to you, because they're from the strata in 1990 specifically for the residents of the strata in 1990, you're mistaken! Those rules apply to everyone!"
Same goes for things like being gay or cheating on your husband, which are all punished by death in the Old Testament. Are these also just specific rules for specific people at specific times? Or are you just cherry picking what you like or don't like?
Again, Those were specific rules to a specific people at a specific time. That’s why it’s called the Mosiac law, it’s the law from Moses to the Israelites. Doesn’t apply to you if Moses isn’t talking to you, and you’re not an Israelite wandering through the desert.
That's why it's called the mosaic law - from MOSES to the ISRAELITES. It's an amalgamation of the words - they wanted it to be very, very, very obviously a specific commandment to a specific people at a specific time. It's a historical record.
I should start this off by quote Red Pen Logic by Mr B
We welcome all questions. But let's not pretend all questions are equal. Some questions are looking for answers, and some are looking for exits.
You're clearly looking for an exit here, but if not, have a quick read of this. It's an answer. But it might block your exit. ;-)
