The only ‘simmering’ going on is from folk who subconsciously know they got conned but their cognitive dissonance is expressed as anger towards others who are just trying to live their lives and not bothering others.
Sour grapes. They got ripped off so they want everyone to get ripped off so at least everyone can be in the same boat.
