Yeah, because it would have gone so much better if he'd promised to ban abortions and gay marriage, openly denied climate change and promised to slash immigration.
O'Toole "shifting left" wasn't the issue in this election. The issue was that there's now an outlet on the CPC's right flank for people who don't think the CPC is right wing enough. There is simply no way appease both the radical far-right fringe wing-nuts and the moderate centre simultaneously. You can't appease one without alienating the other. And the centre is much bigger so the centre wins.
Bottom line: Perpetual Liberal rule until someone stomps out this retarded little PPC project once and for all.
Yet again you jump to the most extreme points. Not even the PPC argues for a ban on abortion or gay marriage. Do you really think that there is no middle way between these two? Do you think that O'Toole's flip flop on the carbon tax brought him more votes from the left than he lost to the PPC? Same goes for his 180 on guns.
When all mail-in ballots are counted, which will lean slightly towards the Libs and the NDP, the Conservatives will end up with a lower share of the votes than in 2019. Scheer was far more social conservative than O'Toole and he came closer to defeating Trudeau than the current leader of the CPC.
And the centre is much bigger so the centre wins.
The centre lies comfortable within the Liberal Party. A party with policies you vehemently oppose. If you want a conservative Canada, and not only conservative in name, then you just don't adopt liberal policies to win an election. You show the centre that conservative policies are the way to go. I sometimes wonder if you would support a Conservative Party if they would just copy and paste the 2015 Liberal party program (word for word) and run with it. I kinda have the feeling you would.
Doesn't work like that in a democracy. Bernier won't go away and the CPC will have to adjust their strategy, because it's clear that chasing left wing voters doesn't work for them.

The simpler question is would he have lost if there wasn't a PPC.
As of now, the answer is "no".
These retards are going to keep us under Liberal rule forever.

You mean swing out to the extreme right to appease the white-nationalists, QAnon crazies and antivaxxers and then lose the center in the process.
Like I said, endless Liberal rule.
