As much as I'd discourage people with no training, no support and no clue what they're doing from attempting amateur armed riot control (not on moral grounds, but because it's likely to end very badly for you), this sends a strong message to all the rioting communist filth out there.
In fairness to Kyle, without training, he only shot the pedophile, the leftist 'revolutionary' and the failed executioner trying to murder him, and in the case of the 2nd, he merely disarmed him.
The problem is that while he may have successfully defended himself against three attackers, he failed at his mission. His original reason for being there was to defend some piece of property, and he was chased away from there. That's a tactical victory for the rioters, even if the score is 2 dead on the rioter's side.
Anyone who understands riot control or even armed escalation of force could have predicted that:
A) His mission was very unlikely to succeed being just two people against a mob, even if the defenders were armed.
B) On top of that, if any confrontation occurs at all between you and the crowd, it's probably going to end up with you either in a bodybag or in handcuffs.
Huge risk + very little chance of success = Not worth it. In scenarios like that, people who actually know what they're doing don't engage. They withdraw and come up with a better plan. This is why while you're hearing the military/law-enforcement types applaud his success at defending himself, you're not hearing as many of them endorsing Kyle's decision to pick up a gun and attempt to take on an angry mob that night. Anyone trained/experienced in this field knows that's a fucking stupid idea, and the outcome was very predictable: Mission fail, and Kyle either dead or on trial for his life.
FOOKIN HELL THAT WAS AWESOME!
Yup.
