These are stats as of today and will change within a few weeks after the people that are currently in hospital with Delta are discharged. Omicron will change these stats, as current vaccines are not as effective in keeping people out of the hospital. We will still see higher rates of hospitalization of unvaccinated people, but not as much as it is today.

If you're still pushing vaccines, here's how to properly evaluate whether a covid vaccine is right for you:

1. what is the probability that, first, you will get covid and, second, you will need hospitalization for it (Answer: it is extremely low).

or;

2. You get the vaccine. What is the probability that you will still get covid and up in the hospital even after being vaccinated? This probability is lower than point #1 above. However, it also comes with another risk - What is the probability that you will get a vaccine injury that requires hospitalization? Both of these probabilities have to be added in this scenario. And, the answer is still that risk of hospitalization will be very low.

In each case, hospitalization is extremely low, enough that you don't need to worry. However, if you're fat, unhealthy, or old, your risk in point one is likely something that you should worry about.
