Not my crystal ball. I assumed TorStar media might be right for the first time in a long time, but some broken clocks are never right. Feel free to keep track, though; seems as though you have little better to do.
Everybody who thinks about it, after hearing for months that covid has damaged global production and supply chains, knows that the cost of living overall is going to go up anyway, even without Russia's aggression in Ukraine.
I'm calling you on your needless "$1.95 by the weekend" sky-is-falling bullshit.
The links you provide don't support you. Your Windsor Star link says “Bank on an increase to the $1.65 range here in the GTA,”
The Post Millenial says "Canadians for Affordable Energy have issued a warning to the media that prices at the pumps across Ontario may spike yet again in the next several days, possibly even crossing the $2-per-litre mark" and provides a link to an unrelated article over six months old as their first reference. Then it goes on to bolster their $2-per-litre fantasy with a quote that says "even by Sunday, we could be seeing average prices in excess of $1.67 per litre"
Your Toronto Star article says nothing about $1.95 gas by the weekend.
I'm sure that gas prices are going to go up, but spare us the hair-on-fire hysterics.
Sooooo..... How did that work out for you?
Or do you live in Timmins?
Bought at 1.55, it's stable at 1.55, so no gain, no loss. Closure of multiple Iraqi sites today means lower OPEC output, which means higher prices. I imagine those writing for the TPM and Star figured Canada and the US would stop buying Russian gas, but clearly they've elected to virtue signal only. https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/goldstein-world-still-buying-russias-natural-gas-oil-despite-ukraine-invasion
So here it is late Sunday afternoon and I just filled up at $1.539.
I don't doubt that it will be $2 eventually, but you need to polish your crystal ball a bit before making such confident predictions.
Should we keep track of how long it will take to get to $1.95 in Toronto?
