Some people politically believe all taxation is evil.
For me it's more nuanced. Imagine the government as a business. You pay(taxation) for goods and services. Ideally the money is used well. We do need police and justice system. We do need military.
Flipside, take this or similar 'baby bonuses' it's society's way of boosting or incentivizing people to have children. That is afterall how society continues. It's going to be a net-positive for society to do this.
Even single payer healthcare. Covering a cheap shitty lowest tier possible health insurance that barely covers anything but does at least cover the essentials means your society has a net-positive benefit. entrepreneurs and poor folks who cant afford healthcare dont have to worry about the essentials. private insurance covers the rest. The debate is how much should ohip cover.
Flipside, sending how many billions to other countries so that they can build renewable energy? FUCK NO.
These people are not living in reality.
In Conservative Utopia, sure - no more tax. But at the moment, we are in Liberal Dystopia, and we are being taxed to death to fund the leftist agenda in all spheres of life.
Since taxation exists, and its all going to leftist causes, we need to fight so conservatives also get some money back and tip the balance.
I have a kid, and I'm conservative, so more money in my pocket. More power to my family, and we will live longer that way, it's better for the right-wing cause.
At this point, we should support any tax mandate that would deplete the left and enrich the right. That's what they do to us.
