I'm a bit skeptical about why this dropped right before the mid-term elections. It will change the narrative away from the economy and focus on the emotionally charged topic of abortion. Libs will be extra-motivated to go out and vote. Let's also recall that these justices refused to consider the voluminous amount of evidence showing that the presidential election was stolen. Apparently, they love the corrupt socialists. This could be their move to keep the democrats in power by rallying up their pink-haired base along with their soy-drinking simps.
Hmmm. I hadn't considered that. You're right, this will galvanize Democrats going into midterms. Maybe that was the thinking of one or two of the justices.
Edit: And right at the beginning of protest season too. They've got the whole summer to make a stink over it. Then come the midterms.
The George Floyd thing happened in May of an election year too.
I'm an American and I think the people who reckon this will change the tide of the midterms will be sorely disappointed. But then again, whether this ruling has any effect on the midterms depends on how many seats you see the Republican Party winning vs how many they actually win. If you live in Steve Bannonland where we're going to take 100 seats in the House and then we end up taking 55, one could ascribe that discrepancy to a number of things.
