Why would the government not want ivermectin widely available when medical systems can't properly diagnose parasitic infection that can lead to cancer?
"Tapeworms are flat, not round, and are not killed by ivermectin."
Thanks for clarifying the difference.
So what about mebendazole?
In the UK, easily found elsewhere not so much and now it's discontinued with no explanation.
The new commercial versions are excessively expensive.

So if a lifesaving drug like this is priced so only the rich can get it, it's effectively condemning those who are poor with similar conditions to a death sentence.
Welcome to capitalism.
Are you advocating for government control of private industry? Or just regulation?
Government will always be cause and effect based on creating the outcome they want by creating the conditions for the outcome. Some would say the excessive pricing was encouraged by government policies to enable this outcome:

Welcome to public pharma - I hope the big pharma companies are ready to be federalized.
I think we're in agreement that people should have access to the medications they need.
You seem to be arguing that A) it's government's fault that mebendazole is too expensive, and at the same time that B) government doesn't have the power to control drug prices but Biden is trying.
