In Canada, if someone breaks in to your house, and you break their face, they will sue you and win.

We have no right to protect ourselves against lethal force. You can fight, but not in a way that will stop anything. You can fisticuffs and that's it. No tasers, no knives, no mace, no firearms, no home defense, no castle laws.

Bravado is nice on the internet, or if you don't have a family, but unless you're rich and can afford an amazing defense lawyer, your best bet is to take everything up the ass and avoid jail.
