I used to love Caribana as a kid.
We'd go down, enjoy a sweet parade, listen to some steel drum music and get some amazing bbq.
It used to be a festival of gratitude if you can believe it. It was held on Simcoe day for a reason and it was a way that the Carribean-Canadians (particularly the Trinis) gave thanks to our amazing country.
To think that it turned into a dangerous affair where the spectre of rival gangs crossing paths and having a shootout in the middle of a crowd is outrageous.
Toronto used to be so friendly, clean and peaceful. I have no idea how that city went so wrong.
