I'm the only mod there, but the truth is I don't moderate anything. I'm a 100% free speech moderator. I might consider dumping obvious spam, but I'm not going to kick users or delete comments.
I'll also add, if you decided you are going to get your PAL and if you have a friend or relative who has a PAL -- have them buy whatever guns you are interested in now and hang on to them. Bill C71 had a bit of a back door registry built in, but it hasn't been activated yet.
I did that for a buddy late last year. He did his course in December but because of delays and covid it took until July before he was issued his PAL. He already owned 6 rifles that resided in my gun safe by the time he actually had his PAL. I even 'took him out shooting' with his guns a couple times before his PAL arrived, as a PAL holder can supervise a non PAL holder when shooting.
Super easy but I would go to the closest gun range and enquire about PAL/RPAL courses. Most have a bulletin board and post upcoming courses. Course is very easy, if you show up and don't sleep too much you will pass. When I did mine I had never shot a gun but its actually laid out nicely and makes sense. I would recommend doing the RPAL. I only originally did the non-restricted because back then you had to deal with the separate permit to transport. Now (someone correct me if I'm wrong) there is no bullshit if you have a RPAL and only own non-restricted. Once you purchase a restricted (which you'd be allowed to do) they attach the permit to your license. I believe you have to have a range membership when you purchase a restricted but lots if ranges are super cheap.
I've gotten a few drinking in public fines when I was younger, I had to answer to those when I first applied. Anything mental health related is also a red flag.
I agree, but just to add because of the shit show that reddit is, and who knows how long canadaguns will be allowed to exist, there are alternatives:
https://www.canadiangunnutz.com
https://www.gunownersofcanada.com
And one I created and moderate but is not very active yet: https://ruqqus.com/+Canadaguns
Come to https://ruqqus.com/+Canadaguns then and help make it more active.

The PAL process also requires a full and absolute background check by the RCMP, and signatures of your wife and maybe ex wife.

Next question is how much ammo do we need
Too much isn't enough.
