I remember seeing a mini documentary on east Asians being heavily targeted and disproportionately being the victims of black crime. They were seen as easy prey who wouldn't fight back and would have difficulty interacting with police because of the language barrier. Also had to do with the animosity of east Asians working hard and owning businesses in poor black areas.

I tired looking for it without luck. I think it was actually in South Central LA.
That was a big source of animosity in the LA riots with the korean shop owners. How dare they work hard and not be bums?
