Recycling is a crock of shit. Who's surprised about that?

Plastic bottles weigh far less and when transport costs are factored in the extra fuel used to move heavy glass bottles outweighs the benefit of not using plastic.
But are plastic bottles reusable over and over again? I know glass beer bottles are collected, washed, relabeled and refilled.
If every trip uses significantly more fuel it doesn't really matter if they are recyclable. The return trip of empty weight is pretty bad, too. Plastic is easy to make, light, and sanitary. We can burn them easily is we don't want them in the landfill and still be better than using glass.
Doesn’t surprise me at all. Who is going to wash the left over jam out of their containers and peel the labels off and put it in the bins all nice so they don’t break. It’s worthless. Only the beer bottles that people take to the depots are worth something, and usually only the brown ones are cleaned and reused.
