That’s a view certain westerners have. But perhaps check out the developing world where oil and gas use continues growing and there are no realistic alternatives on the horizon. In fact there are few alternatives in the developed world as well.
It also makes sense to invest in proper screening abilities and training so the virus stays out of long term care facilities in the first place. Then ICU capacity and ventilators become less of an issue. Both Quebec and Ontario have failed miserably at keeping the elderly safe, and the draconian policies that affect the entire population are the result.
I stopped donating to my university. I’m not going to fund their leftist agenda. I don’t mind that they want to have an inclusive, diverse institution. But when admissions are no longer solely merit-based I had to pull the plug.
Good. All this firing over trips is ridiculous. Does no one have the ability to simply say we are not firing people who traveled? And this by the way is why simply hiking taxes to give more money for healthcare doesn’t work. It’s not primarily a funding issue. It’s a resource allocation issue - like paying huge severances for poor board decisions.
Twitter (and others like FB and Google) are pure evil. They self-censor in many countries to appease local authorities. They censor conservative voices in the US. And they proclaim they support openness and freedom. I’ve never used Twitter or FB. Now I’m trying to extricate myself from What’s App and from Google. I hope millions of others do the same.
Unintended consequences! The woke authorities think they were so smart by no longer providing proper descriptions of alleged criminals. Racism they cried - providing a useful description will further marginalise racialized communities. (Or some nonsense like that.). Yet the result is that everyone now knows very well the color of the perpetrators simply because they are not described as white.
Good for him. And screw the stupid administrators that decided to fire the guy. That’s getting bang for the buck! And the solution to all health care issues in Canada is almost always to just raise taxes and throw more money at the problem. Maybe this will wake people up to see it’s not a lack of money but how it is spent that is the main problem.
Polite Canadian is an old myth. First, here in Quebec we must have the grouchiest, most unhappy people in the world. I’ve never experienced a place with such unhappy people. They walk around frowning and mumbling shit all the time. No one smiles. It’s unreal. In the rest of Canada it’s probably a bunch of Karen’s everywhere, wanting to control what and how you think.
This is coming from Legault. Ford will join in soon. If Legault had data showing how bad travel is he’d publish it in an instant. The fact he hasn’t shows travel isn’t bad at all but he feels he can get mileage out of this by blaming Ottawa.
