There is little diversity on the ice the article says, next to a chart showing blacks dominate the NBA and NFL. Why not similarly say there is little diversity in basketball and football? Lots of whites is absence of diversity but lots of blacks is not? How can these Writers be taken seriously?

Sounds like we are in similar situations. Problem with QR Is all their flights go thru Doha, which is rather out of the way. The AC option to GRU sounds great for the price. But tbh AC is one of my least liked airlines. But at least it’s an option. Good luck.

I flew SIngapore-Montreal thru Doha on Qatar Airways in June. Toronto-Detroit on Delta in August. Chicago-Montreal on United in early September. Last week I flew Montreal-Toronto-São Paulo (where I am now) on Air Canada.

The Qatar and Air Canada flights were in business class. The Delta and United flights were in economy.

On Qatar business the pod is enclosed. They refer to it as the suite. No mask is required while in the suite with the door closed. Masks are required when walking about. The crew were excellent and kept the toilets clean in between visits by passengers. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Air Canada requires masks be worn at all times except when eating. In fact, my mask slipped under my nose while I was sleeping on the YYX-GRU leg and the flight attendant woke me to tell me to fix my mask. Ugh.

Delta and United both have mask requirements. I complied and had no one next to me on either flight. I got around it a bit by nibbling on snacks most of the short flights.

I guess I am a contrarian. I like traveling, especially these days. The planes haven’t been crowded. Airports are empty, there are no lines. It’s really stress free.

(Much of my travel has been family related, but I enjoy it and still find time to enjoy and relax).

If you can get by the scary stories I highly recommend Brazil. Summer is coming. The Real has dropped and it’s cheap. (The people and food are great.) There are no longer any entrance restrictions. I’ll go back to Montreal next week and probably return in December for Christmas and head to the beach. São Paulo currently feels better than Quebec in terms of how they are dealing with Covid.

Do note that upon return to Canada there is a two week quarantine requirement.

And if she wants to play with boys would you send her for gender reassignment surgery? Any normal parent would of course say no! But crazy leftists very well might.

Christianity is growing fast in Asia and Africa. The new missionaries will come from there. Westerners will soon be so tired of wokeness the message of Christ will be welcomed.

These hearings are not favouring the Democrats. They come across as intellectual lightweights who simply want a partisan on the court.

But what about the lasting damage Covid is causing to [an undisclosed number of] young people??

Trump banned diversity trainings [sic]? Not so. Anyway, too bad for you. Perhaps try engineering or computer science?

I thought these terms just express Canadian smugness. It’s rampant.

It’s not a boomer thing. The youngest boomers are now 56. Plenty of people under 56, especially in the over 35 age group probably fall into the category of folks who don’t realize, or care, that they are being lied to by CNN etc. This includes Gen X and Gen Y as well. The education system and media are responsible.

Perhaps if your father is referring to the US you can direct him to The NY Times v Sullivan for an understanding of the threshold of proof required to sue the press.

What about a cough with a mask? Certainly some particles must be exhaled with extra force by the cough?

So what did the notes say? Or will I be offended to learn the truth?

They should tax the leftists that don’t actually ever solve any problems. Maybe then the leftists would be incentivised to come up with plans that actually work. They screw up everything then seek out additional tax revenue from upper middle class to fix the problems they created. Of course simply throwing money at dumb policies doesn’t ever work.

“Colonialism has robbed me of my original identity...”. She is free to move back to the Caribbean or Africa to reclaim her identity. But of course she won’t do that. Because she doesn’t actually care about that identity.

Why is Canadian politics so full of lawyers? I’ve never seen so many lawyers in politics anywhere else.

I hate to focus on appearances but Freeland needs to wear clothes that are less tight. She doesn’t look good. And I wonder what Lametti is thinking having to stare at her.

If the option of opting out of “free” healthcare was available with a tax rebate for not participating the money saved could be used to buy health insurance, and this might be a better deal. Most people don’t realise that even in the US many people have insurance which covers the medical bills. And there are no long waiting periods. It’s not perfect In the US but the idea that every sick person in the US goes bankrupt is not rooted in fact.

The US does encourage assimilation yet it is also more multicultural than Canada.

The sole issue is whether Trump and his businesses complied with the tax laws. Making use of lawful deductions is something everyone does.
