Newly tabled gun legislation would allow municipalities to ban handguns through bylaws restricting their possession, storage and transportation. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says today the measures will be backed up with serious penalties to enforce these bylaws, including jail time for people who violate municipal rules.

Jail time for violating municipal bylaws? Fuck me. Nenshi will be begging to have more bylaws backed up by jail time. Didn’t shovel your side walk? Jail. Didn’t pick up dog poo? Jail.

Anyone know if it was a student or the instructor that set it off?

There would be zero complaints if the garbage can was named Mike or Jean.

I think I’ve only met one engineering PhD that actually knew what end of a screw driver you use. Most of them have gigantic egos and the PhD only serves to further inflate it.

Seeing as Crosbie’s dad was the one to close the cod fisheries, he doesn’t stand a chance in hell. Pleading for the rules to be changed gives him an out when his party has a historically bad showing.

I remember early January watching the fear porn come out of China. The emergency hospital that was built in days. The body bags being loaded onto busses. Looking at sulphur oxide emissions and trying to estimate crematorium usage. I was concerned.

Then it came here. There where no massive waves of dead. There where no body bags. There were no overloaded crematoriums or mass graves. We stayed at home, made banana bread, and got fat.

At this point it might be worth it to cut your losses and start the immigration process in what ever county you’re currently in.

The variants are probably LESS harmful then the original. A virus is just like any other organism on this planet. The goal is to reproduce and spread. It’s a lot easier to spread if it’s less harmful and doesn’t kill / put its host in bed for a week.

The solution is pretty obvious then. Hold the election in the liquor store. They already check ID there, all they have to do is check it against the voter list and deal with the ballot. It’s not that hard.

The way things are going, left and right are easiest to describe as those that receive from the system and those that pay into the system.

Then one day a man looses his job, cries, shows emotion, tries to seek help, is told to suck it up, and he goes and shoots himself.

Can’t have people trying to be unique individuals with their cloth masks with prints and designs. All the sheep need to be identical, interchangeable, the same and bland.

The worst part this is SAIT. Half of the technical people in Alberta went here. There’s no gender studies department, or arts. It’s a technical school where you learn welding, accounting, respiratory therapy, dental hygiene, and more.

It shouldn’t be like this, and yet here we are.

Getting out would probably be easy. But evading the police and Karen’s after an emergency alert is issued would be a lot harder.

When ever some one complains, I’ve found that saying “finally some seasonably appropriate weather” shuts them up. This happens every year. Last year it was the second week of January. The warm winter was nice, but dust storms and rain in December was a little much. Back to regular is nice.

Calgary is a fucking disaster. Going downtown at 7:30 or so just before the sun rises, there’s only a few floors of buildings with lights on. At certain times you can see right through the empty buildings. Reported office vacancy rates are 30%, though it’s got to be a lot higher as companies are still stuck with long term leases for floor space they’re not using and can’t find someone to sublet to.

Transit is to be avoided at all costs, even in rush hour there’s plenty of room. The only really safe part of the train is the lead car where the operator is. Pre Covid I saw homeless guys drinking beer and vomiting on themselves, now it’s meth.

Nenshi and co are so focused on bullshit like residential speed limits and racism in the police force that they forget that were being squeezed to the limit with taxes.

My favourite is the ones that are all masked up, and then cross the street without looking. They’re so concerned, and yet completely unconcerned about their safety. Which is more likely to put you in hospital, +- 3000 pounds of metal, or a virus that most people don’t even know they’ve had.

WSB has a firmer grasp on the meaning of the word “investment” then this government does.
