I thought I was the only Jew who realized that McDonald's jacked the price of their value menu.
A McDouble is $2.79 here in the GTA. You probably live in a cheaper part of the country.
Pre-COVID, I used to get takeout from McDonald's up to 4 times a week. Now I just buy pre-cooked burger patties (no mess from having to grill/fry up burgers. I just re-heat them) from the meats section of my supermarket for a $1 each. And then I buy the hamburger buns, processed American cheese slices and thousand island dressing. So instead of paying $2.79 + tax for a sandwich, I'm paying maybe $1.45-1.53/sandwich depending on how much dressing I put on my burger.
Stumbled into McDonald’s drunk last night, got a breakfast sandwich thing and nuggets for 15.75. I should have stayed at the bar and had a proper burger.
Lol... your gauge on food inflation is calculated using fast food prices. That tells me you’re just starting your journey into the real world and about to find out how much cooperations advertise the shit out of Canada and you actually have other ‘cheaper’ options once you start looking. The more something is advertised the more I know there is a better option lol. But you are right. Food prices are jacked!

I'm pretty sure it's $2.29 here is Saskatoon, but it's been a while since my last visit to McDonalds.
It was $2.29 up until like June or so and then McDonald's jacked up the price 50c here
They need to compensate for the lockdowns. Expect another increase after the holidays.

That’s what happens when the minimum wage is $15! It’s unreal!
Just wait until that shit costs $17.56, then $27.56, and so on until it's a mortgage payment.
It's coming. Our dollar is about to be worth less than dogshit. Could happen as early as next year.
I'm out of highschool for over 15 years and even then a McDouble was more than $1.19.
tfw KFC Toonie Tuesdays is now 3 dollar Tuesdays.

Fast food is a ripoff now. I'd rather pay 5 dollars more to have to wait a bit more than have food thrown at me in my car from a little window.
And you can make yourself such a better mcmuffin from scratch with some time and effort, just need to get the efff off the couch and do it.
Then go the fuck home and make your breakfast. You sound lazy as fuck.
No wonder they can charge 7.56, because they know lazy fucks like you would rather pay that amount then do the work.
And then the Millennials in Toronto pay another $10 for the UberEats delivery while complaining why they can't afford a house.
Why would anybody go to Subway anymore when there are burrito shops on every corner now?
Stopped reading there.
