I have been hating the radio ads. All the characters speak in very put on gravitas voices. Like everything is so deep, thoughtful and self important. They create this bullshit feeling that questtrade thinks they are saving your life by having an app for trading on.
Yes, because what they are saying is sooooo important right? Ha! I just looked at the video ads on youtube. It is the same shit. They were clearly all directed to have this strange 'this is important, almost somber stuff' feeling but it comes across as super forced and phony.
I can imagine the ad agency and director telling the actors 'be more quite and intense, this is all about that low energy performance. Think about how this is very important and no laughing matter'.
Drove me insane on the radio and I'm glad I haven't been getting this on youtube.
EDIT: I just realized that in half of these ads they are talking like someone died and they need to be very sensitive to the other person while delivering important information about their trading future. It is fucking weird.
Questrade: Because Trading is as Important as COVID Deaths.
Every commercial on TV is interracial couples. While I am sure they exist, mostly in the big cites, I have yet to ever actually see more than one or two in real life. And I'm talking about white person with a black or east indian. There's plenty of white/native couples around, but you NEVER see that on the TV.
"Hope isn't a strategy"
Ya, sure, thanks thug.

I'm pretty sure the reason that black guy has that condo is because he got the diversity hire at the bank

Reminds me of those TD commercials with the typical token black guy giving banking advice
