Yes, this is what socialized healthcare does - you have one option for a job and career, the government, and if you dare step on superior's toes or speak out or rock the boat, you are fucked. It makes slaves of healthcare professionals who will no longer work for their own betterment (higher wage, more money earned if perform better/work longer, etc) nor for the betterment of patients theyve sworn to care for because there is no longer any benefit for themselves and are penalized for attempting to change the system to aid their patients.
This is the fundamental flaw in communism - when you force people to work, punish any that excel and reward the lowest common denominator with the same treatment as the best workers, it destroys innovation and creativity and all motivation. Same applies to welfare - they could easily get jobs and there are programs to get retrained, but they get paid to do nothing and have cell phones, tablets, eat out every day at mcdonalds, get their starbucks, etc. They have no need to exert effort and it makes slaves to the government that will gladly keep them where they are as their serfs. It's fine as long as the middle class exists to provide all taxes for them, but when the money runs out, the gulags open and the killings begin.
