There's a lot to criticize Israel for and they should be criticized whenever they do something out of line. There is a big picture to the whole conflict though. Israel has offered Palestine peace including territory for an independent state on multiple occasions. Every time the Palestinians have rejected the offer. Israel is motivated to build a peaceful and prosperous state for it's people. Palestine just wants to destroy it's enemy.
I don't see the connection between the two debates.
All I know is that if Canada had a neighbor that constantly committed terrorist acts against our people, that was committed to the destruction of Canada and that refused every opportunity at peace, we might occasionally cross a few moral lines when defending the security of our people too. Criticize Israel when it's warranted but be grateful that you don't have to deal with the problems they have.
