...that I cant go in anymore and need someone else to do my shopping for me, I asked which rule, law or regulation says that, if it was store policy or across all the stores of that name, was told that its been like that for awhile. Is this cashier misinformed? Im pissed that I was told essentially "your kind dont belong here" and I need others to shop for me like I was some invalid. I tempted to go back there in my suit and ask to speak to the manager about it.

You should go back in drag and ask the manager why transgendered people are banned from the store.
Depends where you are. In my city, there's a bylaw about it.
I just checked it, nothing about getting someone else to shop for me. It does say not to stigmatize people by denying them services though lol.
Honestly.... Pull the Karen card. Call corportate/the manager and ask "for clarification on their mask exception policy"
That isn't their policy, it is illegal, and they'll have it corrected for your next visit.
I've got a medical condition where I can't wear one for long, if at all most days. I occasionally wear one for drop off/pick up things, but I can't shop with one on.
The only time I've had an issue, I called the store and asked for clarification and followed up with "I don't want them in trouble, but I hope they're informed of your policy" and I've never been bothered since.
Normally I'm with everybody else and say "shop elsewhere", but in my case the store location housed a pharmacy that had been very accommodating to me. It's usually a low level staffer who has no idea of policy who's seen someone "stick it to anti-maskers" online and think the law favours their actions.
In which province is this?
Ontario. It wasn't in a big city like Toronto, it's a small local town.
Sir, do you have a mask? "Do you understand the bylaw you are trying to apply? You are explicit violation of the bylaws/acts you are trying to enforce just by asking."
Oh, I don't care "Are you actively discriminating against me? Are you confessing to committing crimes against me?
It's in our store policy for people to wear a mask. "Am I a store employee? Why do I have to follow your policy? Isn't that for you as an employee to follow? Can you produce a signed contract where I relinquished my rights to your policy? Does your store policy supersede the Federal Canadian Bill of Rights and Charter of Rights and Freedoms?"
You have to wear a mask. "Are you practising medicine without a license? Do you have rights/privileges to practice medicine at this public accommodation? Are you confessing to practising medicine without a license?"
The law says you have to wear a mask. "Are you making legal determinations against me? Are you practising law without a license? Are you confessing to practising law without a license?"
If they threaten to call the police and cite you for trespass, and you are able to be calm and Hold Your Position. Call 911 first, tell them there is a man/woman who is:
"Not wearing a mask is not a crime."
And only the OWNER of the property can claim trespass against you. The police cannot, nor can an employee or manager. They expose themselves to Tort Law and personal liability if they take actions as such (as long as you are not committing crimes).
A police officer only has the right to interact with you if:
In all interactions, remain calm, polite, respectful, as them to produce EVIDENCE for their actions. They have none. Hold your Position. By doing so you are exposing their liability as they are making these decisions personally, without right or evidence.
I would also highly recommend having audio/video recordings of all interactions. Canada provides rights for SINGLE PARTY recording (https://www.legaltree.ca/node/908). If you are one of the parties in the conversation, and you consent to the recording, then the entire conversation can be recorded by you. If you enter a public accommodation, you can record it. The store is recording you. Did you provide explicit consent to being recorded? No, they just tell you because it is a public accommodation.
Anything you cannot do to someone, another man/woman cannot legally do to you.
Your rights only exist if you exercise them.
This is just for informational purposes. Not advice. Everyone needs to own their own actions, learn the law, protect yourselves.
I've heard good things about the Jurisdictionary course: https://www.howtowinincourt.com/FrameSet.cfm?mTitle=QStartHere&sitename=Jurisdictionary
I'm in Vancouver, some health official told my boss that the mask mandate was only for two days months ago, but that building managers can set the policy at their leisure.
No shirt, no shoes, no mask, no service.
Private property bitches!
Actually in Ontario the law and provincial acts like AODA state that stores cannot discriminate against customers with disabilities. If I had a wheelchair, they need to have the store accessible or accommodating, they can't ask for medical documents or tell me that I need to have someone else do my shopping.
How is it "private property" if there is government issued warning signs on the front, sections taped off for items that the government doesn't want me to buy. The government has more control over how stores operate right now than the store owners do.
Sure, why not. Free market baby!
BuT mUh HaTe SpEeCh!111!!!!!
They filed criminal complaints against their Governors (i.e. Texas), and had it brought before the Grand Jury.
The Governor didn't want to be indicted, so they dropped the mask and other mandates.
The States with Mask Mandates vs No-Mask Mandates have the same COVID outcomes (cases, deaths).
I feel sorry for your mother if you still believe this...
The socialist people's republic of Massachusetts just lifted their covid restrictions
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/long-time-coming-massachusetts-drops-mask-mandate-remaining-covid-restrictions/ar-AAKvFPi
At this point, COVID is done not only in Republican states, but Democrat states are about to open up too. COVID is finished in the US.
And it won't be done here in Canada for atleast another six to twelve months if we're lucky
I will be watching with an eager eye. Hope you guys get the problem sorted out. Its a shame
