Louisiana and Alabama will catch up to the death rates of NY and NJ. They aren't that far behind. These states are currently reporting up to 10 times the cases per capita than New York.
The new York times article is pay walled.... so useless, but doesn't show specific regional data, knly in aggregate so useless again. BtW no one here with half a brain would trust the failing NYT anyways....
As for statista, what is the source of their data? When I attempt to use their link, it wants a login...
The NYT "article" isn't an article and it's not pay walled. It's a map with the current covid cases by state and county and I can access it without any subscription. It also shows specific regional data. From current cases and hospitalizations to deaths. You can also use the NYT page for deaths per capita and state.
New York is almost last on this list with a current death rate of 0.04 compared to 0.62 for Arkansas and 0.56 for Louisiana. The Southern States in the US are catching up fast to the NE States.
They will be in the next week. For example in Louisiana 28 people died every day last week on average due to Covid. In New York 7 people died every day on average last week.
And New York has four times the population of Louisiana. Over 120 people every day have to die in New York due to Covid so that the difference in death rates between Louisiana and New York won't change. But that's not happening. The opposite is happening. The death rate in Louisiana is rising fast, not so much in New York.
Washington won our independence during a measles epidemic
It wasn't the measles. It was smallpox. Washington also mandated that all soldiers had to be inoculated against smallpox, speak a mandatory vaccine.

You got any data to back up that assertion?
